Well, it’s here. The Championship weekend of the NFL season is upon us. On the AFC side of the bill you have the games best quarterback vs one of the games toughest quarterbacks. On the NFC side it’s a tale of two of the leagues hottest offenses. Let’s get into the breakdown.
Pittsburgh (+6) at New England (-6)
I like Pittsburgh here. No matter what history tells us. The Patriots have not played this hot of a team, 9 straight, with this time of explosion. I know last week could be looked at as the Steelers not being as explosive as we all thought but let’s remember a few things. The Steelers got into KC territory 6 times and stalled out, something that rarely happens to them. This is the first post season that Big Ben, AB and LB are playing together. I expect them to put on a show.
Not much needs to be said about the Patriots. The leagues greatest QB paired with the leagues greatest coach. The combination is just deadly and the proof is in the pudding. However, as aforementioned I am not sure they have faced a team as talented as this Pittsburgh team. Shazier on defense is just a FREAK and they get a good pass rush. Give me Pittsburgh and the points 28-23.
Green Bay (+5.5) at Atlanta (-5.5)
We all know who I am picking here. There is no question about it. I am a Packers fan and will never bet against them, even if it is at the sacrifice of my wallet. Expect this game to be a shootout. Do not read too much into the injuries to the WR core of Green Bay … Aaron Rodgers can make anyone look good, now.
On the other side of the fields is a MVP (almost 100% sure) QB with weapons galore. Ryan is playing the position at a spectacular level and will continue to do so vs a WEAK pass defense in GB. I don’t think Vegas can make the o/u high enough for this game. So as a bonus give me the over on the 61 point mark set by them. We could be looking at a good ol’ fashion barn burner this week with a total point score of 75. Give the Packers and the points 40-37.
